As you can guess, I've decided to start this blog to talk about real estate...probably not a hard guess if you're on my site. Before becoming a Real Estate Broker, real estate was already a big part of my life! My start came in the form of being a real estate investor at the age of 24. When I was younger, for some reason I read Gwenda Blair's book, "The Trumps: Three Generations that Built an Empire," and from there was hooked on building my own little real empire
Over six years I amassed a real estate portfolio worth almost $5 million. In the early days part of my success was due to never really thinking this couldn't be done! Through a lot of sweat equity, creative negotiations and being able to identify good opportunities, I was able to achieve my goals. I did this while maintaining a career with the Ontario government and the City of Toronto in the Housing & Homelessness Division. At work I'd constantly find myself being asked for advice on real estate, which made becoming a broker such a natural transition as it combined my passion for real estate, entrepreneurship and helping people. In my first year as an agent I was the top rookie and from there quickly became one of the top selling agents in my brokerage!
With this blog I hope to share my knowledge of Toronto real estate and real estate investing with anyone interested! I'd also like to put all of those years of writing Council reports and policy papers to some use!
Thanks for reading and giving me this little plot of cyber space to talk about what I love.
Andre
